01Our commitment
We want everyone to be able to look through the catalog, build a stack, and send a request. We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as our working target. This is a goal rather than a claim of full conformance, and we have not had the site independently audited.
02What we have done
- Pages use headings, landmarks, and a skip link so that people using screen readers or the keyboard can move quickly.
- Buttons, links, the bag drawer, and form fields can be used with the keyboard. The bag traps focus while it is open and closes with the Escape key.
- Focus is clearly visible, and text and controls use strong contrast against their backgrounds.
- Form fields have visible labels, and success and error messages are announced politely to assistive technology.
- Animation is limited to entrances, small lifts, and a scrolling strip. If your device asks for reduced motion, those animations are turned off.
- The layout adapts to small screens, and text can be enlarged without losing content.
03The Stack Bench and illustrations
The Stack Bench draws a diagram, but everything it shows is also available as text: each layer is a button that reports whether it is on, the list of pieces and the total are updated in plain text, and the diagram’s label describes the current stack. The hive pictures on the site are illustrations, not photographs, and are described or hidden from assistive technology as appropriate.
04Known limitations
- The decorative scrolling strip beneath the first screen is hidden from assistive technology, because it repeats information that appears elsewhere.
- Clicking the dashed outline in the Stack Bench diagram is a convenience; the buttons beside it are the primary controls.
- Fonts load from a third-party service, and if it is unavailable the page falls back to system fonts.
05Browsers and assistive technology
We design for current versions of major browsers and for common assistive technology. We cannot promise that every combination will work perfectly, and we would like to hear about problems.
06Other ways to order
If you cannot use the bag or the forms, you can send your list of pieces and quantities by plain email or tell us by phone. We will prepare the confirmation in the same way as for any other order request.
07Feedback and contact
If something on the site is hard to use, tell us which page and which device or assistive technology you used. We aim to reply within five business days and to fix problems we can reproduce.
